🌱 What Is It Made From?

Our glitter is made from a sustainably sourced plant-based film, derived from cellulose (that’s plant fibres, not plastic). It's completely free from traditional polyester, which means it won't stick around for hundreds of years in the environment.

Every particle of Planet Glitter is:

• TÜV OK Biodegradable certified

• Cosmetic grade and skin-safe (when used as directed)

• Vegan, cruelty-free, and proudly microplastic-free

💧 What Makes It Biodegradable?

Unlike traditional plastic glitter that hangs around in landfills and oceans forever, our glitter is designed to break down in natural environments - like soil, compost, or fresh water.

The film is tested and certified to break down through natural microbial activity, which means:

• Microorganisms in the environment digest the glitter

• Over time, it transforms into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass

• No toxic residue or microplastics are left behind

⏳ How fast does it break down?
That depends on the conditions — moisture, temperature, and microbial presence all play a role. In the right environment, it begins to degrade in weeks to months. It won’t break down in your makeup bag — but it will once it enters a compostable or natural setting.

TÜV Austria is a globally recognised certification body. Our glitter is made using material that has passed the TÜV OK Biodegradable standard — a rigorous, science-based process that confirms the glitter will actually biodegrade in real-life conditions (not just a lab).

It’s one of the highest standards of eco-certification in the world. 🌍

🎨 What Can I Use It For?

Planet Glitter is perfect for:
